Govan Town (Paul OBrien)

Me I hail from Glasgow town

I was weaned by the river Clyde

Ive come to make me fortune here

Down by the grey Liffey side

My heart is back in Govan town

The graving dock the winches and the cranes

Sometimes I swear Id give my arm

Just to walk through Elder Park again

To walk through Elder Park again

We came to teach the laddies skills

How these ships of steel are made

How to rivet and to weld

And show them how a keel is laid

My heart is back in Govan town

The graving dock the winches and the cranes

Sometimes I swear Id give my arm

Just to walk through Elder Park again

To walk through Elder Park again

Now there is a lass in Glasgow town

I long to be there by her side

We could saunter down the Broomielaw

Hand in hand along the Clyde

My heart is back in Govan town

The graving dock the winches and the cranes

Sometimes I swear Id give my arm

Just to walk through Elder Park again

To walk through Elder Park again
